                                                                  Political Blackmail

Since the Republican takeover of the House Of Representatives under Newt Gingrich and the corporate funding of the Christian right in the US, we have seen many Christian leaders influencing or attempting to influence our elected officials.

The recent actions taken are reminiscent of the McCarthy era (Black days in The USA) with the latest big push by the Catholic Church leadership both in Rome and in the USA to call into question our elected leaders faith and the withholding of the Eucharist from gay and abortion rights supporters.  The fact that the Catholic Church would use such tactics brings up the fears associated with the election of John F. Kennedy.  People feared the pope would become involved with our Government.  Sorry, that happened much later under the leadership of our former president Ronald Reagan when he recognized the church in Rome and established diplomatic relations with them, the only religious organization recognized this way.

Papal leadership has since called into question the pro abortion voting record of Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry, (a Catholic) and has advised elected officials that they must follow the church teaching in their voting or face restrictions in the church.  (BLACKMAIL)

This action and like activities of other Christian tax exempted organizations brings to mind a question.   WHY ARE THEY TAX EXEMPT?  If they use blackmail tactics on their members to enforce the religious teaching, they should have no special rights.

END RELIGIOUS FAITH BASED TAX EXEMPTION NOW!
